Description

Wilson, J

Security of Payment in New South Wales and Victoria written by Jeffrey Wilson provides a comprehensive examination of all the case law which has interpreted the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Acts in these states.

In 1999 New South Wales led the way in Australia by introducing a radical new payment regime for the building and construction industry. Victoria was the next state to follow suit with legislation which was almost identical to New South Wales however, subsequent amendments to both states legislation mean there are now many differences between them.

Security of Payment in New South Wales and Victoria provides detailed and comprehensive annotations of the two pieces of legislation allowing readers to quickly find the current law and interpretation of any particular provision. Similarities and differences between the legislation are analysed and a comparison table is provided.

All those who deal with the Security of Payment legislation will find this an invaluable resource whether as a construction industry contractor, principal, professional consultant, adjudicator or lawyer.
